Eric Korphage is a Member of Pike & Gilliss, LLC and focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including construction, surety and fidelity law. For over fifteen-years, Mr. Korphage has worked in the private practice of law and as a bond/claim counsel for the largest surety company in the world. He has successfully tried and arbitrated cases before federal and state courts and in arbitration proceedings. Mr. Korphage represents general contractors, sureties, and subcontractors in a wide variety of construction, contract dispute and surety matters, including mechanic’s liens, and payment and performance bond, breach of contract, construction defect, delay and inefficiency, and trust fund violation claims. He also has experience in general commercial litigation, performs contract review and modifications for contractors and represents receivers and creditors in receivership and bankruptcy proceedings.

Prior to joining Pike & Gilliss, Mr. Korphage worked as an attorney at The Travelers Companies, Inc. (focusing on surety claims) and Niles, Barton & Wilmer, LLP. After graduating from law school, he served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Joseph F. Murphy, Jr. (retired), then Chief Judge of the Court of Special Appeals, and the Honorable Pamela L. North, Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
Mr. Korphage attended the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University where he was member of the Dickinson Law Review and Dickinson’s National Trial Team.
